Discovery 2 Update from Coach Kristen

Team Administrator Williams

Hi All,

Long course season is off to a flying start, with our first meet under our belt. Special shout out to our team for being incredibly well behaved. Amongst the chaos of other teams running around and rough housing in the gymnasium, the Water Rats were focused, respectful, and left our area spotless at the end of the day.  Well done!

Our remaning meets for the season are Greenwich (6/7-6/8), Springfield (6/22), and then Regionals (7/19-7/20)

Summer Swimming- We will switch to our summer schedule Monday June 16th. The 2024-2025 swim season will offiically end Thursday July 24, however we know many families like to take the summer off due to various other commitments.  If you will not be continuing through the remainder of the season, please just let me know and we will keep you looped in for re-registration for the Fall!

Equipment- Please inventory your swimmers equipment.  All D2 swimmers should have rubber fins, a front mount training snorkel, and a kick board.  Please ensure your swimmers equipment is in good working order, the proper size, and labeled with their name.  We have had a lot of swimmers coming to practice not properly equipped.

Open Swim- I know a lot of D2 swimmers have been enjoying open swim in the family teaching pool before and after practice.  However, please note the Y facility policy that all swimmers under age 14 must have a parent or guardian present on the pool deck or observation area in order to be in the pool. Swimmers who do not have proper supervision are not permitted to be in the pool before/after practice.

Go WRATS!
