Kristen Finnegan Named 2025 Bill Krumm Age Group Coach of the Year

It is with GREAT pride I send this email.

CONGRATULATIONS to Coach Kristen for having been selected by her CT Swimming coaching peers and named the 2025 Bill Krumm Age Group Coach of the Year!

Kristen’s knowledge, love and passion for swimming is inspirational.  The foundations she instills in those she coaches, are second to none.  Kristen has coached many Age Group and Eastern Zone Champions, while many have attained great success at the national level as they progress through the Water Rat program and college.  Those that have swum with Kristen value what she taught both in and out of the water.

Additionally, Kristen is highly respected by her peers.  She is forging a strong path into the governance of the sport as she is currently on the CT Swimming Board of Directors as Coach – at – Large and recently participated in USA Swimming’s Women in Governance Workshop.

The award is named in honor of Bill Krumm, former Head Coach of the Water Rats for 27 years.  Upon retiring from coaching, Bill was the Sport Development Consultant - Western Zone for USA Swimming before his sudden passing in 2017.

Kristen is the first Water Rat coach to receive this award since it was named after Bill.

We so fortunate to have Kristen as an integral part of the Water Rat Family.
